@markoteras For the ed company I worked for, those were two big strategies. We dealt with a lot of "partners" and competitors that couldn't use data because of various state laws, or level of tech. Some big VC-backed companies can do that, but I bet it is a small minority.

@markoteras Addressable market is one of the challenges, at least in the US. The fractured state of the market means you are dealing with quite small sets of data. So, if you are making a data play, you must have a product that is VERY general, and can be used across a bunch of contexts.

@markoteras Oh and Marko, just to clarify, I am talking about MS and HS in the US. There is lots more freedom in HE to allow for those types of shenanigans for sure. I dunno how much your research or CARDE's work is done on "lower" ed.
