Some scenes from this afternoon’s visit to Nitobe Memorial Garden. This is a very well kept Japanese garden that even the previous emperor has visited. It is an interesting mix of Japanese and Canadian foliage. Nitobe died in Victoria in 1933. 1/4
The teahouse Ichibo-an is really nice, and was rebuilt with the backing of the previous Iemoto of Urasenke. It has a proper tea garden with a waiting area and moon viewing area. Many years ago I attended a tea gathering here as part of one of my classes at university. 2/4
