@mijustin Thinking of this more, maybe the way to compete with the “Everything Store” of the GR SNS is to go niche, focus on a subgroup of readers (academics, genre readers, topical) and build a network there. Trick is to find a big enough niche for monetization.Permalink On twitter.com

@mijustin Another possibility is piggybacking off other federated networks. Like, I would maybe try and partner with bookshop.org/. They are getting all sorts of catalogue information, and could build a personal tracker and reading recommendation engine from across their network.On twitter.com
